Book Review: Black Lies by Alessandra Torre

Black Lies by Alessandra Torre is one of the most suspenseful romance book I have ever read. Not only this book has a good dose of love and feelings, but it also has in it a handful of mystery going around through it.

In "Black Lies," the protagonist, Brant Sharp, is a wealthy businessman who becomes entangled in a web of deception, lies, and unexpected twists. The narrative explores themes of trust, betrayal, and the consequences of hiding the truth. The story is known for its unexpected plot developments and the exploration of the characters' psychological depths.

This book is not just a sappy, cliché romance but it has layers of so many secrets, so many feelings growing below the words which at a point just snap and kick you in the gut. you would never sense it coming.

It is written with a subtlety that lulls the reader into a sense of mystery and then smacks them over the head when the truth is revealed. The story is so brilliantly woven together that nothing is accidental, everything is intentional, and the preconceptions and assumptions of the reader need to be left at the door. This mix of romance, suspense and psychological thriller makes for a binge-worthy read.

This book has been rated 4.26 on Goodreads and was even nominated for the Best Romance 2014.
